COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS TRAVEL UPDATE

COTA Holidays is committed to ensuring the health & safety of all of our travellers on all tours at all times.

We understand that the COVID-19 Coronavirus is currently causing concern to travellers and we thank all of our loyal customers for their patience and understanding during these unprecedented events.

We are monitoring the situation daily and will keep all travellers informed about any changes to their holiday plans. Our team will provide all travellers with any available options for your holiday.

A travel ban on overseas travel is currently in place for all Australians.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted global travel to an unprecedented extent. A travel ban is currently in place for all Australians from 25 March 2020 until further notice. You will not be able to depart Australia to travel to any overseas destination.

If you are currently overseas, the Department of Foreign Affairs recommends returning back to Australia as soon as possible.

Travelled recently?

A compulsory 14 day self-quarantine period currently applies to all travellers arriving from overseas as well as all travellers arriving from interstate into the Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania & Western Australia.

Due to these restrictions, all travellers who have travelled within the past 14 days will be denied boarding on any of our tours.

We also ask that all customers with a recent fever, acute respiratory infection or had any close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 not visit our office / store or travel on any of our tours.

AUSTRALIAN DOMESTIC TOURING UPDATE

Updated Tuesday, 14 April 2020.

Due to the current advice from Australian health authorities as well as Federal & State Governments, we have decided to temporarily pause our domestic touring program until 31 July 2020.

We have been forced to postpone a few of our tours as a result of the Australian Government’s restrictions on indoor gatherings and state border closures.

    Options for affected travellers

  • You can choose to rebook on the new departure date at no additional cost, or rebook on any of our other tours. Any amounts paid will be transferred to your new tour booking, or
  • Receive a Future Travel Credit for the value of any amounts paid to use towards any of our tours departing before 31 December 2021.
  • Any third-party charges such as airline policies may still apply.

Our Peace of Mind Promise for tours departing after 31 July 2020

All of these tours are currently scheduled to operate as normal.

On all of our tours departing before 31 December 2020, you can choose to receive a Future Travel Credit if you decide to change your travel plans and notify us at least 30 days prior to departure. Any third-party charges such as airline change fees may still apply.

Your Future Travel Credit can then be used towards any holiday departing before 31 December 2021.

Standard cancellation fees will apply if you choose to cancel your holiday completely.

We will continue to monitor the advice of health authorities & governments and will advise you of any changes that may impact your trip with us as soon as possible.

OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY POSTPONED

As a result of the current coronavirus situation, the Oberammergau Passion Play has been postponed to 2022.

We have therefore been forced to postpone a number of trips for the Passion Play to 2022.

    Options for affected travellers

  • You can choose to rebook onto our new departure date in 2022, or
  • Receive a Future Travel Credit for the value of any amounts paid to use towards any of our tours departing before 30 June 2021. Any third-party charges such as airline change fees may still apply.

Information for all other holidays

As a result of the current coronavirus situation, most airlines & operators have responded by cancelling or suspending holiday arrangements during this time.

Most of our suppliers are offering revised cancellation & amendment conditions and options to postpone your holiday as well as offering Future Travel Credits to use towards future holidays. These updated conditions vary for each of our suppliers and may only apply to selected booking departure dates. Please contact us for more details on the conditions that apply to your holiday.

Our suppliers are continually monitoring the advice provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO), Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) and the Centre for Disease Control (CDC).

If you have booked a holiday and it is impacted by a travel restriction, we will assist you by working with the airlines & our suppliers to provide you with the best available options including incentives & Future Travel Credits.

In most cases, our suppliers are waiving fees to change your travel dates & postpone your holiday. However, normal cancellation fees may apply if you choose to cancel your holiday outright.
