Your adventure begins this morning with a flight from your homeport to Tokyo. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a free day to relax before our included dinner this evening at our hotel.
One of the world’s most cutting-edge capital cities, Tokyo is a city of contrasts, famous for its neon-lit landscape, towering skyscrapers, peaceful shrines and lovingly tended gardens. Although long the political and cultural centre of Japan, Tokyo became the official capital when the Meiji Emperor moved it to Tokyo in 1867.
This morning after breakfast, we will be picked up from our hotel for our transfer to Tsukiji Outer Fish Market (Inner market will be closed because of market transfer to Toyosu). Then experience of Sushi making experience and enjoy the Sushi for your lunch.
Transfer by private coach to Hinode Pier, where we board a boat for a Sumida River Cruise experience on the Sumida river (approx. 40 minutes). The cruise will bring us to Asakusa, Tokyo’s old town, where you can soak in the atmosphere of the Tokyo of old. Visit Sensoji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest temple and wander down Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries. Head to the first observatory of the Tokyo Skytree for panoramic views over the city. Explore the Edo Tokyo Museum or the Tokyo National Museum (which you visit is dependent on the day of the week) and Tokyo’s Imperial Palace (from the outside).
This morning begins a relaxed day for us to enjoy the beautiful and classical landscapes of the Hamarikyu Garden and the Yoyogi Park to enjoy the spectacular Cherry blossom blooms, famous throughout the world. Incredible views of the beautiful pink blossom will be a sight you will remember forever.
After lunch we enjoy an afternoon exploring the evergreen forest that encompasses the Shinto Meiji Shrine and stroll around Harajuku district. We tour past the famous Drive by the famous Shibuya “Scramble” Crossing on the way back to the hotel.
Today our touring takes us for a spectacular days touring. Our first stop is Hakone Check Point and in the afternoon, we board the pirate boat which sails the crater lake, Lake Ashi, from Hakonemachi to Togendai. Both are ports on the shores of Lake Ashi, which is in fact an enormous volcanic crater created by an eruption 3,000 years ago.
After arriving in Togendai we will continue our journey via Ropeway heading towards Owakudani. *Owakudani is generally accessible by ropeway however as this area is an active volcanic zone hiking trails may be closed due to volcanic gasses. People with respiratory problem should consult their physician before visiting the area.
The first thing you will notice when arriving in Owakudani is the smell of sulphur coming from this active volcano. There are walking trails around Owakudani that lead to steam vents and bubbling pools. The eggs they sell in Owakudani are boiled in the volcano’s natural hot springs and are said to prolong life by seven years!
❱ Hotel stay: Fuji Lake Hotel or similar (2 nights)
Today we travel to visit Japans most iconic landmark- Mount Fuji. Start at the fifth Station for breathtaking views of Fuji. Please note travelling to the fifth station at Mount Fuji is only possible if weather conditions permit it. Try your hand at making traditional Japanese Soba noodles before tucking in to your creations for lunch. In the afternoon continue to Oshino Hakkai, a scenic area of ponds full of crystal clear spring water created by Fuji’s melting snow, where there is also a small museum, Hannoki Bayashi Shiryokan. The museum is a traditional farm house with household items, samurai armour and weapons. If time permit visit Iyashi no Sato Historical village, located on the western shores of Lake Saiko, it is famous for its thatched – roofed houses.
This morning after breakfast and we check out of our hotel, transfer to Odawara station for the bullet train to Kyoto.
An enchanting city, Kyoto was capital for a thousand years; today it is the legacy of ancient Japan, full of tranquil temples, silk-clad geisha and sublime gardens.
Visit a traditional teahouse for a Tea ceremony where you will be joined by a Geisha or an apprentice Geisha, known as a Maiko. Next, take a tour of the Ryoanji Temple before heading to the Kinkakuji Temple, also known as the Golden Pavilion, due to its gold-like exterior.
❱ Hotel stay: Hotel Monterey Kyoto or similar (2 nights)
After breakfast we begin with a visit to UNESCO site Fushimi Inari Shrine. The Fushimi Inari shrine goes from the bottom to the top of Mount Inari (233 metres high). You will walk up part of the mountain; there are some steps and the incline allows for a steady paced walk. After lunch, learn traditional Japanese handicrafts such as origami and enjoy the art of a tea ceremony at Kyoto handicraft Centre. Last stop is the spectacular Kiyomizu Temple. You will spend one and a half hours on foot exploring the temple.
This morning, transfer to Kyoto station and take the bullet train to Hiroshima, a journey of one and a half hours. A modern and prosperous city, Hiroshima will be forever remembered as the world’s first atomic bomb target.
Travel by coach to the famous Peace Memorial Park and Museum. Please be aware that the museum may be confronting and upsetting for some group members and it is at your discretion if you wish to visit or enjoy time at leisure exploring the Peace Memorial Park. After lunch, travel one hour by coach and take a short ferry ride to Miyajima Island, where sightseeing will be at a leisurely pace on foot. Visit Itsukushima Shrine and explore the traditional market town at leisure. Later this afternoon, return by ferry and then coach to Hiroshima for dinner before checking into your hotel.
❱ Hotel stay: Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima or similar (1 night)
This morning we set off on a leisurely coach journey Travel to Himeji. On arrival we enjoy a lunch featuring local specialities at a local restaurant before visiting the beautiful UNESCO site Himeji Castle and Koko-en Garden.
Himeji Castle is still in its original condition. During your walk along the wooden floors passengers will be required to remove their shoes in the traditional Japanese way. After the reopening in March 2015, Himeji Castle has welcomed a large number of visitors. Due to the number of people visiting this popular attraction, visitors are kept at small numbers at a time to avoid congestion. However, there are many other parts of the castle to explore. Transfer approximately two hours to Osaka for your overnight stay.
❱ Hotel stay: Hotel Granvia Osaka or similar (1 night)
This morning enjoy breakfast before we transfer to Osaka airport for our return flight to Australia.
Arrive back in Australia this morning (Depending on flight times, you may arrive in Australia on the night of Day 11 instead).
