Travel in the spacious Red Premium Seating onboard which features more leg room, in-seat dining and a trolley service. ❱ Hotel stay: Quality Hotel Batmans or similar (5 nights)

Days 2 to 5 – Melbourne

Enjoy 4 full days at leisure to explore the city of Melbourne. There’s plenty to see & do in the city – take a stroll along the Yarra River to the popular Southbank precinct or go shopping in Bourke Street.

Alternatively, you may wish to join a day tour to the surrounding regions including the Great Ocean Road, Phillip Island, Dandenongs & Yarra Valley. Ask us for more details (extra cost applies).

Day 6 – Board the Queen Elizabeth (D)

This afternoon, make your way to Port Melbourne to board the Queen Elizabeth. Enjoy some time at leisure aboard the ship before indulging in a welcome dinner onboard.

Day 7 – Burnie (BLD)

Sitting on a beautiful stretch of Tasmania’s North West Coast, port city Burnie may have industrial roots, but it has since reinvented itself as a creative enclave and the state’s fourth largest city. With about 40 per cent of Tasmania designated as a World Heritage Area of national parks and reserves, you can enjoy a wide range of wilderness experiences available from this laid-back market town.

Day 8 – At Sea (BLD)

Enjoy a full day at sea to take advantage of the many activities available onboard the Queen Elizabeth.

Day 9 – Hobart (BLD)

Wave goodbye to any preconceptions you may have of Australia, as you say hello to wonderful Hobart on the southeastern coast of Tasmania. Revel in the capital’s splendid heritage, scenery and culture. Hobart has a distinctly European look and feel, and a unique local character. Capital of Australia’s Island State, with Mt. Wellington as its backdrop, it has plenty to offer the adventurous and the inquisitive.

After Sydney, Hobart is the second-oldest capital city in the country, having been established in 1804 as a penal colony. Its location in the estuary of Tasmania’s Derwent River means it is sheltered and calm, although its southern latitude means it often experiences cooler climates than on mainland Australia. Hobart may be a small city, but it is tightly packed with history, culture, art and an emerging food scene that is quickly gaining national attention.

Day 10 – At Sea (BLD)

Enjoy another full day at sea to take advantage of the many activities available onboard the Queen Elizabeth.

Day 11 – Kangaroo Island (BLD)

The third-largest Australian island boasts incredible natural beauty, with unspoiled pristine beaches and a truly unique opportunity to see an amazing range of animals up-close in their local habitat. As one would expect, there’s a healthy kangaroo presence, along with wallabies, koalas, seals, sea lions and goannas, the placid and unassuming lizards that grow up to a metre long.

Day 12 – Arrive in Adelaide (B)

Sadly, today marks the end of your Rail & Sail Holiday. Disembark your cruise at Adelaide’s Outer Harbor Passenger Terminal after breakfast.

Post-Tour Arrangements for Interstate Travellers

You will be dropped off at your hotel in Adelaide at the end of your tour for your overnight stay.

The next day, enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Adelaide and South Australia. Ask us about optional tours that are available today including day tours to the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills or the McLaren Vale wine region. Alternatively, you may wish to take a stroll down Rundle Mall or visit the Adelaide Zoo and the Botanic Gardens. Later today, a chauffeured car will take you from your hotel to Adelaide Airport in time for your flight back to your homeport.
