Your adventure begins with a flight to the beautiful city of Adelaide. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure. Ask us about a range of optional activities available or simply take a stroll along the newly redeveloped Riverbank precinct or go shopping at nearby Rundle Mall.
❱ 1 night: Mercure Grosvenor Hotel or similar
Day 1 – Depart Adelaide on the Ghan (LD)
Adelaide travellers: A transfer will meet you to take you from your home to the Adelaide Parklands Terminal in time for the Ghan’s check-in.
★ Settle into your private Gold cabin onboard as the Ghan departs from Adelaide.
What lies ahead is rugged, beautiful and spectacular – through the Red Centre to the tropical north of Australia. Settle into your cabin and watch the rolling pastoral lands of South Australia from your window, or meet your fellow travellers in the lounge car.
Before long some of the oldest rock formations in the world, the Flinders Ranges, come into view. As darkness envelops the rugged outback, it’s time to indulge in a regionally-inspired dinner and all-inclusive fine wines and beverages.
❱ 2 nights: The Ghan train journey- Gold cabin
Day 2 – Marla Outback Experience & Alice Springs (RD)
★ Begin with a freshly brewed coffee or juice as the day dawns at Marla, an outback outpost in the remote reaches of South Australia.
It is here, deep inland, that you will enjoy a one of a kind experience, as you watch the desert come to life at sunrise.
★ All aboard for brunch as you make your way through the MacDonnell Ranges to Alice Springs where a choice of Off Train Excursions awaits.
Alice is an iconic Red Centre outpost – 1,500 kilometres from the nearest major city, it may be remote, but offers plenty to explore – home to doctors who fly, rivers that run dry, and a cast of colourful characters. Your time in the ‘capital out of the outback’ offers numerous opportunities to explore its historic legacy and unique environment
Day 3 – Katherine, Arrival in Darwin (BL)
Your day dawns in the tropical north – the pristine wilderness of Katherine is stirring and powerful.
★ You’ll have the chance to explore it from the water or land with your choice of off train experiences.
Cruise the jaw-dropping Nitmiluk Gorge, learn more about its ancient Indigenous rock paintings and gain insight into the culture of the traditional owners of Nitmiluk, the Jawoyn people, or discover authentic outback life on a cattle station.
As evening falls, arrive in Darwin to complete your epic Australian journey.
❱ 4 nights: Hilton Darwin
Day 4 – Darwin City Sights (B)
★ Discover the spectacular highlights of Darwin on an included Hop On Hop Off City Tour.
The tour will take you to all of Darwin’s must-see attractions such as the Botanic Gardens, Mindil Beach, Crocosaurus Cove, the Musueum & Gallery of the Northern Territory and the Darwin Military Museum.
Day 5 – Litchfield National Park (BL)
★ Spend a day exploring beautiful Litchfield National Park with time to swim at 2 spectacular waterfalls.
Our first stop for the day is Florence Falls. View the double falls from a high vantage point before making your way down to take a swim in the plunge pool. Then, take time for a walk through the scenic bush and monsoon vine forest.
Explore Tolmer Falls, a spectacular photo opportunity that is home to colonies of rare ghost and orange horseshoe bats.
Enjoy lunch at the Litchfield Cafe before stopping for a swim at Wangi Falls, the most accessible of all in the region and the perfect place for a final dip today.
Feed the barramundi at Howard Springs Nature Park and see the huge Magnetic Termite Mounds before returning back to Darwin in the evening.
Day 6 – Sunset Dinner Cruise (BD)
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Darwin or ask us about a range of optional sightseeing activities that are available.
★ Later today, relax onboard the Charles Darwin as you watch an iconic Top End sunset whilst enjoying a delicious dinner – a magnificent way to finish your holiday in Darwin!.
The Dinner Cruise aboard the Charles Darwin is a great way to get a bird’s eye view of the famous Darwin sunset whilst enjoying a delicious Territory style set dinner with Australian seafood and local produce all in air-conditioned comfort. This two & half hour cruise on the Charles Darwin’s Captain’s Deck (Main Deck) is the perfect way to feed the family and enjoy the scenery.
Indulge in a selection of Australian Seafood, Santa Maria Beef, Litchfield Mango Chicken, NT Reef Fish and an array of salads & desserts.
Day 7 – Depart Darwin
Sadly, today marks the end of your Northern Territory adventure. You will be transferred to Darwin Airport in time for your flight.

Adelaide travellers: A flight back to Adelaide is included with your tour. On arrival, you will be met and transferred home by a chauffeured car.
Interstate Connections: A flight is included to take you back to your homeport.
